All of my
European photos are available in larger sizes. Please let
me know if you would like a certain one for any reason, and I
will e-mail it to you!
In late September, I hopped a plane
to Frankfurt, Germany with nothing but my lonesome self, a backpack,
and a sketchbook and embarked on an incredibly educational, intropsective,
and awe-inspiring two and a half week journey.
Documented in this part of the site are the various sights and
experiences I encountered on my travels in Europe, photographed and told as
best I can remember.
Part of the reason
it took me so long to post all of this is because of all of the
writing and extra goodies that I stuck into each page. At
times, I may ramble into sections that are extraneously wordy or
full of silly detail, but I edited it over several times in an
attempt to filter out everything but the best, most essential
memories that made this trip so special. You can find any old
pictures of Europe on the internet, but these are mine, and the
commentary, story, doodles, and ticket stubs were as much a part of
this experience as the photos themselves.
As a special note, I would like to offer
my deepest, most sincere gratitude to all of the immediate and
extended family members that helped make this trip a reality.
Of all the things I've ever wanted to do in life and of all the
places I've wanted to go, this journey was at the top of the list.
You've helped make a dream come true, and I'll be forever grateful.
Your help, love, and information were (and continue to be)
invaluable to me. Thank you so much.
In addition, I would like to enthusiastically thank all of my
inter-state and inter-continental friends who provided me with
lodging, travel tips, and who helped show me around their home
cities. You guys are all awesome, and you're living proof that
there are plenty of excellent, trustworthy friends to be made over
the internet if you know where to look.
I know that a lot of folks have been
patiently waiting to see my trip photos, and I can only hope that
this commentary and website were worth the wait.
With that out of the way, I welcome
you all to join me as I re-tread my path through Germany, the
Netherlands, and France. The first stop on my trip was the
Frankfurt International Airport, and the
horrors therein.
